A touch of culture
Let's start by discovering the rich heritage of the city of Lille and its surroundings. In about twenty minutes by tram, you can get to Villa Cravois. This large modernist mansion is a masterpiece by the French architect Robert Mallet-Stevens and is representative of his work. Built in 1932, it is also a fine example of the modernist movement, being characterised by its openness to light and air, its geometric volumes and use of small bricks in tribute to the regional style. In addition to looking around the house, you can admire the water mirror and the large terraces where you can enjoy the sun. Also, don’t miss the Piscine de Roubaix. Shopping and eating
You can also get a feel for the spirit of Lille by exploring the city’s shops and eateries. For example, check out the Atelier Mama Oh decor shop and its ranges of tableware, stationery, items for children, lighting and more. You’ll be delighted by the original, unique, and deliciously vintage goods on offer. Then head to Coco Friendly, an ethical fashion boutique with a superb selection of clothing, leather goods, cosmetics, jewellery and accessories. And when your shopping spree makes you peckish, the traditional Au Vieux de la Vieille tavern and its timeless atmosphere await… Or treat yourself to a cup of exceptional artisanal coffee at Wally’s Coffee, a café that is an absolute gem.
